We're back! I had a craving for something sweet for brunch, not to mention been thinking of those Liege waffles we had at Waffee a few weeks ago. MerlinFan was keen on trying one of the savoury waffles, so that was how we ended up back at Waffee for round two.
MerlinFan had a Mocha, which had a nice balance of chocolate and coffee. I remember the first time I came I had the cappuccino, which was a bit milky, so I decided to forgo my usual and try their take on the Magic a.k.a double ristretto topped up with steamed milk. It was velvety smooth, with a nice lingering finish.
Mocha $4.50, Magic $3.90 |
We decided to go for one sweet and one savoury and do swapsies halfway. MerlinFan chose the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Two chicken tenders covered with a deliciously crispy, crunchy batter sat atop a hearty helping of creamy ranch-styled slaw. The fluffy savoury waffle had deep grid pockets - perfect for pouring on the maple syrup >:D

I chose the Chocolate Galore, which again was two Liege waffles with a scattering of balsamic glazed berries and two scoops of indulgent chocolate ice cream. I was glad the rich chocolate sauce came on the side, because I liked savouring the delicious waffles on their own. Again, loved the dense, buttery sweet waffles with their glistening crunchy coating.
Chocolate Galore $15.50 |
Delicious, indulgent sweet as well as savoury waffles. I enjoyed their Magic a lot, so might have this again next time around. Staff were also super friendly and enthusiastic. I'm sure we'll be back - after all, I can resist everything but temptation.
