Earl Canteen Emporium

Food Court, Emporium Melbourne, 287 Lonsdale St Melbourne
Date visited: 26th July 2014

MerlinFan and I visited Emporium yet again for a no fuss feed at the food court. Our choice for the day was Earl Canteen for coffee and a quick snack.

MerlinFan had a latte and I had a cappuccino - enjoyed their coffee, both were good.

We decided to try their Pork Belly sandwich.

Pork belly $13.50
The pork belly was deliciously juicy, the crackle crunchy and salty.  Unfortunately, with so much apple & fennel coleslaw stuffed into a thick, robust bun, the rather thin single slice of pork belly seemed to disappear in its midst - for most part it felt like eating a vegetarian sandwich.  Being a great carnivore, I can't say I was particularly impressed.

We also tried the Salted caramel and popcorn chocolate brownie - I mean seriously, how could you not try it.

This was insanely salty and sweet at the same time.  The inside was moist and slightly chewy - not altogether bad.

Overall, enjoyed the coffees but think there are better value for your money options in Emporium.
