Aspro Ble

For some reason I missed seeing that Aspro Ble was only open for lunch on Fridays - we came here last Thursday afternoon only to discover that it was closed.  So here we are again, this dreary Friday for a quick lunch.

Aspro Ble is a little corner bistro decorated in clean blue and white colours.  The atmosphere is very Hellenic, and there's even Greek music playing in the background.

They have a regular menu as well as the lunch specials.
Whenever I come to a new place, I like trying food off their regular menu.  We had the Fetta and ricotta cheese balls with capsicum aoili.
Fetta and ricotta cheese balls $13
We especially wanted to try the Slow roasted lamb with garlic yoghurt dressing.
Slow roasted lamb $24
The roast lamb was beautifully cooked, fall apart tender.  It was perfectly seasoned to achieve a beautiful depth of flavour.  The cold yoghurt dressing with the sauce were the perfect accompaniment to the dish, and the lemon really brought out the gorgeous flavours of the meat.  Although they were generous with the yoghurt, my only complaint was that they could have given a bit more sauce given the amount of meat, as well as more than just the thinnest slice of lemon - there wasn't enough juice to go around!

Would I return?  Sure, for the great lamb - next time I might go for the special - the slow roasted lamb meal, the chargrilled chicken and have dessert - the baklava or Greek doughnuts >:P
